My favorite museum is SFMoma. A couple more tips for visitors in addition to the free admission on the first Tuesday of the month: The museum is closed on Wednesdays and open until 8:45 pm on Thursdays. There is a cafe on the ground floor and a great tea/coffee shop next to the sculpture court.
